Collaboration with your child's IEP team
As a parent partner, I come alongside you and the IEP process. I help you with preparing written requests for your child and empower you with tools and language to collaborate as the parent expert on the IEP team.
Check out the list of services I offer to help you and your child through the IEP process.
Helping you understand the IEP
WHAT is an IEP review? An IEP review is an in depth look into all areas of the 504/IEP and includes a written report with recommendations of how to move forward. I will write one parent concerns letter that you can copy and submit as your own communication.
WHO needs a document review? Anyone who wants to make sure the 504 or IEP is developed with the unique needs of their child in mind, anyone who is experiencing a breakdown in team communication, or struggling with the way the 504/IEP is being implemented.
HOW do I prepare for the review? When you purchase the IEP review you will receive a link to schedule a call with me. I'll have you send a digital copy of the complete 504/IEP, (which you can obtain from the school. During the call we'll talk about your top 3 areas of concern. If I have any questions during the review I will contact you.
WHEN will my review be completed? I usually have the review within 3-5 business days of receiving the documents.
WHAT if I need more than the IEP review? I offer assessment reviews as well as complete record reviews. Just contact me for the details!
Empowering you for your next IEP meeting
WHAT is 1-on-1 IEP Prep? This is where we partner together in helping you with any concerns you have with the IEP process, communicating with the team, advocating for services, prepping for meetings, reviewing documents, and all things associated with your child's education.
WHO is IEP Coaching for? Coaching is support and training for anyone. I help you through the entire IEP process... from the initial evaluation, development, placement decisions, accommodations, and more. I support you in communicating and negotiating with the school.
HOW are services provided? I offer multiple hourly "Packages" of billable services which include all aspects of consulting; including phone calls, emails, letters, and research as needed for your specific child, and IEP prep.
WHEN can I use the time? You have up to 12 months to use the time purchased in your package, but you are not limited to the hours purchased. When you need more time, we can renew your package for your specific needs. Complicated cases may require more time, but you continue to receive 100% of my support.
Supporting you in the IEP meeting
WHO should have a Parent Partner at the IEP meeting? Anyone can benefit from the added eyes and ears at the IEP meeting. But if you aren’t sure about how the process works, are nervous about what to expect, feel intimidated by the team, need someone to speak up on your behalf, take notes or offer moral support then an IEP Parent Partner is an excellent choice.
HOW do you attend the IEP meeting? I will physically attend a meeting within 25 miles of my location. For clients outside my mileage range (or when otherwise required) I will attend via conference call or video conference.
WHAT is included in the cost of the meeting? Consultation and meeting prep. Pre-meeting connection 20 minutes prior to the meeting, actual meeting time, and a written post meeting recap to you and/or the team thanking them and summarizing key points.
*If a follow up meeting is scheduled then hourly rates apply.
